Hey, is this okay? I think a white guy/franchise doing Día de Muertos probably isn’t cool. But, you know, values and awareness change with time and Star Trek has been out forever, there is a good chance this toy came out in a less enlightened time when people weren’t as sensitive to these ideas.

Yeah, it’s not cool. 2013 is definitely late in the game for a billion dollar mega franchise to push out a novelty bobble head of sugar skull William Shatner. Not a good look.
I’m sorry I own this. No, I know what you’re thinking and you’re right, “I’m not sorry enough to throw it out or give it away.” I am a hypocrite. I’m probably going to keep it on a shelf somewhere, but tucked in the back and kinda covered up by other figures. Then someday, after I pass on, some younger relative, tenderly packing up my possessions to make way for the sale of the house will come across it, and be slightly disappointed in me.
I’m throwing this shot at a hoop 30-40 years out, and I’m already turning around and taking off my jersey.
