The Penguin is kinda the least funny part of the Batman 66 Movie, so I’m gonna be honest with ya, I just have him to fill out the collection. He’s just kinda a bummer through the whole movie! But he had the submarine so they needed him. He’s like the one kid in highschool who gets a car earlier than everyone else so all of a sudden everyone is hanging out with him even though he sucks.
So why do I have a toy of him if I don’t like him? That’s just how it is when you collect toys and dolls and things. Sometimes you get 7/8ths of a set and you have to ask yourself if ticking off that last box means more to you than absolutely loving every little thing you own. Turns out it sometimes does.
ALSO – I defend this practice! I can’t tell you how many times I got a toy or figure or doll as a collection filler only to fall in love with it a little later. You ever have a toy like that? Like you got it as part of a build-a-figure or just to cap off a series but find you keep coming back to fiddle with it? That’s a good feeling! That’s part of the joy of toys and collecting! Don’t shy away from it, embrace it!
Although to be fair, that kind of swing was unlikely to ever happen with the Burgess Meridith Penguin. Sorry pal, I’m not coming around on this one.
