You wanna (GI Joe) Sigma males? One word – Destro.
An absolute unit. Chromed out, wearing his chain, carrying a shoulder mounted anti-air missile launcher, and if you really piss him off, he’s got a concealed submachine gun in his briefcase. He’s strapped, got the drip, living his best life.
I still maintain that the GI Joe Sigma line were unfairly maligned. I don’t know what everyone else was smoking, these toys ruled and I’ll never be convinced otherwise. And as usual for GI Joe, the COBRA guys are way cooler than any of the Joes – Destro being a stand out example.
I can’t believe this was a toy sold in Walmart and Toys R Us. It’s too cool. A cyborg arms dealer strapped to the gills and enjoying the fruits of his trade – we truly were not worthy. In another, better world, this Destro is being re-released as a premium retro throwback after enjoying 15 series of increasingly cooler and more elaborate GI Joe Sigma toys – the universe that got it right.
