They got REAL creative with this one.
First of all, Batman skipped every leg day. Look at those little stumps, how’s he gonna spin-kick a crook through a plate glass window with those? Its a moot point anyway since they are literally fused to the bike. That’s right, there’s no getting off this ride for poor ol’ Bruce. He’s chained to his machine, forced to ride the empty streets every night chasing something he can never catch no matter how fast he goes. I’m sure there is a poignant metaphor about his endless quest for vengeance in there somewhere, but honestly I can’t stop giggling at how silly he looks.
Secondly, what is the design theme here? Like this is for the first movie, so they weren’t working off the little escape bike thing he has in the second movie, this is an original design straight off the collective domes of the Mattel design shop gals and lads. And what did they come up with? This weird blue tint at the nose of the bike, the weird coils on the bottom, the big tube for the missile launcher and the ice cube white back wheel all scream “Mr. Freeze” but there is nothing winter themed about the figure or packaging. One might almost think they just repurposed some earlier design theme and didn’t bother changing much, but no, our friends at Mattel would never do something like that. Right?
Right?
