When we used to play 4-player Star Fox on the N64 I always played as Slippy. Get dunked on by my green ass. I was a little contrarian even back then.

This is one of those Nintendo toys that is somehow more plastic than most plastic toys. So smooth and glossy. I mean, it’s high quality and definitely looks like the charact, but they’re always slightly lifeless, blank eyes. But here? Here it works on Slippy. The existential ennui of being the Toad captured in all its discomfort.
I look at this toy and I see myself.
